Young Farmer Screening Series

Series.png

American Meat recently concluded our nationwide Young Farmer Screening Series. This tour took place at universities, colleges, agricultural high-schools and FFA chapters around the country, where we are stimulating dialogue about the meat industry, framing the conventional/organic debate from farmers’ perspectives, and inspiring young people to pursue careers in agriculture and food.

The states we visited on our tour are Iowa, Missouri, Washington, Virginia, California, Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Minnesota, New York and Pennsylvania. We were a part of over 150 screenings. Thanks to all of the students, AgEd instructors, professors and panelists who partook in this screening series. We're excited about the present and future of our nation's agriculture.

This series is important not only to us but to the farmers and communites we hope to impact. Our goals are to thank farmers, support young farmers and educate that food choices matter.

Thanks to our incredible partners for helping to make this screening series possible.

Hey Graham
I have seen your wonderful film twice…once in Claremont and once at Cal Poly Pomona. I found it very informative, uplifting, and inspirational. This past Sunday I started what I hope will be the beginning of a film series here in Sierra Madre. I was able to arrange to have George Langworthy come to speak and we screened his film “Vanishing of the Bees”. We had 70 people turn out for the event and I have had great feedback from the event.

I would love to show “American Meat”. Could you please tell me what the screening fees would be and whether or not there is anyone in the LA are who would be willing to come and hold a brief Q&A/ discussion after the film is shown?

Thanks so much
Kim Kelley

Hi guys, I’m currently in Asia, and a good friend posted about how incredible your documentary is. I would love to see it. Is there any way you can post this on Amazon Instant Video. I want to rent it!

If you haven’t seen this film, don’t miss the screening of “American Meat” at the 11th Annual American Conservation Film Festival in Historic Shepherdstown, WV, about 1.5 hours from Washington D.C. It will be screened Saturday, November 2 at 6:30pm. More information at http://conservationfilm.org/

If you are in the Knoxville TN area We would love to have you at McBee Dairy Farm. We distribute raw milk and meat products straight to the consumer and our 9 and 7 year old have their own goat and rabbit business going straight to the consumer.

Hey Gerri,

Thanks for your interest. We were in California in late January, early February. We are not scheduled to be back. You can purchase a license to host a screening. It sounds like a wonderful meetup group in Santa Barbara.

When will you be in California? I am the creator of the Santa Barbara Food and Farm Adventures Meetup group. I am sure the 1030 members would be interested in attending an event. I can help organize and promote it.
Can’t wait to show the film to my culinary students at Santa Barbara City College
