Farm: Schaller, IA

Bio: Daren has lived in Schaller his whole life and has been farming since he was about 10 years old. He recently started farming on his own 40 acre piece of land, and this year he will be farming on 120 acres. Farming is a part of Daren's life. He initially wanted to teach art because it is something he is passionate about, but because that fell through he continued on with farming. He considers sitting in a tractor to be theraputic and values the alone time he gets on the farm. He takes pride in raising things on his own, whether it's cattle, chicken or crops. The feeling he gets from farming is indescribable. He loves farming so much that he doesn't even consider it a job and on some days doesn't even feel as though he needs to get paid.
